This year's Breast Cancer 3-Day fundraiser for research and education will open with a ceremony at 6:30 a.m. Friday at Shoreline Community College, 16101 Greenwood Ave. N. The event is a three-day, 60-mile weekend walk.
Local participants have signed up to walk an average 20 miles a day over the weekend, passing through several communities.
The closing ceremony will be at 4:30 p.m. Sunday at Memorial Stadium at Seattle Center.
Seattle is one of 15 cities nationwide hosting Breast Cancer 3-Day events. Proceeds from the event benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure and the National Philanthropic Trust Breast Cancer Fund. Information is online at www.The3Day.org.
